Five Below - History

 
On October 4, 2002, Five Below was established by Tom Vellios, a former CEO of Zany Brainy, and David Schlessinger, the creator of Encore Books and Zany Brainy. Since its establishment, the store expanded to Illinois and Michigan in 2011, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Western Michigan in 2012, and Texas in 2013. In 2018, Five Below relocated its corporate offices—now known as WowTown to the Lit Brothers Building in Philadelphia's Market East neighborhood. Five Below went public on the NASDAQ on July 19, 2012.
