With its headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Shop 'n Save Supermarkets is a grocery store chain with 76 locally owned and operated stores in Mid-Atlantic. The store expanded to Belleville and Illinois in 1979. The chain had 33 locations in Greater St. Louis and 3 more in Springfield, Illinois. However, Ted Wetterau bought the chain in 1982. Shop 'n Save has been a division of SuperValu since SuperValu purchased Wetterau Inc. in 1992.
