The Strack & Van Til chain of stores got its start in the 1950s when Ernie Strack and Nick Van Til combined their two separately owned grocery stores. The company built a large grocery store on a ten-acre piece of land, and then grew from there by adding more locations. More than 50 years later, the company operates more than twenty stores.
Strack & Van Til offers its customers a weekly ad that helps them save on sales, promotions and deals. The Strack & Van Til Rewards Program provides an extra benefit to customers to get access to extra deals for digital coupons, rewards and giveaways. In June 2022, a new partnership between the DEFY company and Strack & Van Til was announced. DEFY, is a drinks company that was founded by football star Terrell Davis. Two lines of high-quality health and performance sports products by DEFY will be sold at Strack & Van Til. The DEFY company is dedicated to making donations to three charities that support black, women and veteran communities.
