Sears in an American retail company that has included a chain of department stores, catalog business, online sales, automotive shops, appliance departments, tools and much more. There are around 20 Sears Hometown store locations in the US, selling appliances, lawn & garden, fitness equipment, tools, electronics, clothing, shoes and more. The company is particularly well known for its home appliances under the brand, Kenmore.
Sears - History
Sears has a long history that goes all the way back to 1886 when the company first began as a mail-order watch business in Minneapolis run by founder, Richard Warren Sears. The company expanded beyond watches, relocated to Chicago, and eventually their catalog business grew as they began opening stores. At one point, the retailer was the largest in the US. Facing a large decline from the 1980s forward, the Sears Company has gone through several iterations of bankruptcy, reorganization and massive store closings.

Sears provides its customers with a weekly flyer that gives access to hundreds of different items on sale. With percentage and dollars off savings throughout different categories, Sears offers let shoppers save more on the things they want. In addition, Sears offers a store credit card as well as a MasterCard co-branded card that allows for additional rewards and perks, including financing options on large purchases.

Continuing in the struggle they’ve had over the years, Sears has closed several locations in 2022. Some states are even seeing their last Sears go. However, anyone in any state is able to make purchases of Sears products through their online sales options.
