Sedano's - Store

Reputed for being the largest store and grocery chain owned by Hispanics in the United States, Sedano's Supermarkets caters to customers looking for genuine ingredients to make Hispanic and Latin dishes, as well as ethnic home goods, kitchenware, and supplies. The Hispanic supermarket was created to ensure easy access to grocery items that may not be found in non-Hispanic grocery stores. With its headquarters in Miami-Dade County, Sedano’s Supermarkets has 35 locations in Miami-Dade, Broward, Orange, and Osceola counties around Florida.

Sedano's - History

René Sedano, a Cuban expatriate, established the first Sedano's shop in 1961 in Hialeah, Florida. However, the store was bought in 1962 from René Sedano by Cuban immigrants Manuel Agustin Herrán and Armando Guerra. Sedano's launched its first location in Hollywood, Broward County, in 1994, marking the company's start of its expansion outside of Miami-Dade County. The private label lineup from Sedano's Supermarkets was first introduced in 2007, and as of 2021, it includes more than 1,000 items. In May 2020, Sedano's declared their affiliation with Shipt, a platform that allows customers to place their orders, select a delivery window time, and deliver the items to their door.
