Beginning in 1925, the company started as one grocery store in Miami, Florida, called Table Supply. Adding new stores and purchasing a chain of others, eventually the name of the company changed to Winn-Dixie, a combination of two previous chain names, Winn & Lovett and Dixie Home. As the company continued to grow, it added stores in other states and now provides service for families in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi.
