Redner’s Markets is an American family-owned chain of retail supermarkets and warehouse stores. The stores sell grocery items such as pantry products, meats, baked goods, frozen foods, produce, snack foods and much more. In addition, Redner’s Markets have health & beauty items, pharmacy, deli departments, beer & wine cafes, and some fuel or gas stations.
Mary and Earl Redner founded Redner’s Markets in 1970. By 1975, they had opened two supermarkets in the Reading, Pennsylvania area and became the first supermarket in the state to become employee owned. In the 1980s, many of the shops were converted to warehouse style stores and today the company operates more than 40 locations throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
Redner’s Markets offer a variety of sales and promotions for their customers to save money. Weekly ads feature hundreds of sale items such as 2-for or 3-for deals, as well as dollars off on multiple item purchases. The Redner’s Rewards app makes it easy to earn rewards, clip digital coupons, see weekly specials and more.
In October 2022, Redner’s Markets donated $65,000 to a charity via an in-store roundup campaign. Making an effort to help with humanitarian relief efforts, Redner’s made the donation to Project HOPE. This organization is helping with Ukrainian relief efforts related to the conflict, particularly donating to provide medical and sanitary needs for women & children.
In addition to its warehouse markets and fresh markets, Redner’s Markets also operates the Redner’s Quick Shoppes. These are convenience stores that are located along with fuel stations and some automatic car washes. There are approximately 20 of these Quick Shoppes.
