Sam's Club - Store
Also known as Sam’s West, Sam’s Club is an American chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs. It was given the name Sam's Wholesale Club in honor of Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart.
Sam's Club - History
On April 7, 1983, Sam Walton launched the first Sam's Club in Midwest City, Oklahoma, 21 years after he established Walmart. By acquiring the SuperSaver Wholesale Warehouse Club in West Monroe, Louisiana, Sam's Club made its first acquisition in 1987, growing the business by 24 new sites. Sam's Club opened a club in Delran, New Jersey, in 1989, taking over a former Two Guys/Jefferson Ward store. In 1993, Walmart introduced the Sam’s Club brand after it purchased PACE Membership Warehouse from Kmart. In 2003, Southern Ontario (all but one in the Greater Toronto Area/Golden Horseshoe) became Sam's Club's first Canadian market.

Sam's Club - News
In August 2022, Sam’s Club announced it would increase annual membership prices following the high number of consumers visiting its shops seeking cheaper sales due to inflation. While inflation has been rising in the United States, Sam's Club CEO Kath McLay announced the grocery store chain would ensure its customers are not highly impacted. Also, Sam's Club will cover the expense this year by compensating the fee increase with Sam's Cash which is redeemable at its locations.
Sam's Club - More Information
Sam’s Club is mostly focused on serving its members only, which means new customers would have a membership to access the store's diverse opportunities. Customers shopping at the store for the first time without a membership can print a one-day pass. Also, Sam’s Club charges non-members 10% more than members.
